New Years EVE!!

Well, I thought I would put up a quick post before the year is out. For those who read the Facebook page, I will be putting the 2010 hopes list here, I just want to get my new journal made first.

For those that know me, either online or off, have been witness to me struggling with a rather trialled year, and I do hope that 2010 will not be as, well, hard.

Before I went to bed last night I did some more writing, a little more poetry to add to the collection, and hopefully it will make it's way into a collection I am putting together, so maybe 2010 will bring that.

But for now, I leave you with some inspiration. I discovered them several years ago (they weren't new, it was a personal discovery) after borrowing CD's from my sister without her consent. So, for you pleasure here is the trailer to a rahter interestin documentary about a incredibly brilliant man.

Visual Journals

Inspired by San's lovely tutorial, and her inspiring ideas, I am endeavouring n making my new journal a rather strong visual one that will contain the elements to successfully achieve my goals of 2010. So, today I went to Gun Wharf and bought lots of paper, various varieties, and then watched Sherlock Holmes, too which I did enjoy it.

I've collected various bits and bobs over the past few months to help me with this creation, downloaded several tutorials from "Instructables" on how to make books, so I am quite set for the creative venture.

Well, now I must depart, dinner is served.

Romantics, here we be.

Well, how was your Christmas?? Mine was good, it was the usual family affair, Mum, Dad, myself and my big sis Ruth. We all got pretty cool stuff, so all is well.

But, that's for another entry, to days entry is about my possible 2010 beginnings, if that makes any sense to you.

After meeting a lovely lass the other week at her own house party (she is a friend of one of mine) we hit it off, not sure if it was the alcohol talking in her blood or what, I don't drink so I can't have spouted rubbish, well I can, but anyways. We had a good chat about music, art and such like, and she lent me a CD, Elliot Smith and truth be told, I have fallen in love with his music. I feel a bit late because I remember reading about his death and not knowing any of his work, but now I do, so that's good.

This leads me to believe that she will want to see me again as I have her CD, so really, she'll have to as she will want it back. But like me, she writes allot, she's a bit off balance and loves Paris. I've been to Paris a few times and I do love it, and I hope to go back in 2010. I hopefully would like to go back and share the experience with someone that will appreciate it.

Anyways, I will leave you with a video, as I have no photos to post.

Christmas Cratfs

Well, I am currently waiting for my Dad's present to dry before I add the second coat.

My Dad found loads of old family medals this year, so I thought they should be displayed, so I bought a frame, and am painting it up so it looks all nice and in theme with the medals.

I have very few things left to do, mostly wrapping, I have two presents left to finish which involves me going back to Hobbycraft in half an hour to get some leather shoestring to make 2 necklaces.

The good thing of the past few days is that I have rediscovered Shoegaze, I forgot how much I love these walls of sound!

Apart from that, some interesting things have happened sociallly, but you'll have to wait, but for now, heres some Shoegaze.

(500) Days of Summer

I watched the film last night, I missed it in the cinema and wished I had seen it there.

The soundtrack was awesome, and apart from "Garden State" it's one of the only films targeted at my generation. One that actually takes us seriously and doesn't treat us like crap.

Anyways, if you haven't seen it, go watch it!!!

Returned from work.

Right, I am back from work, and am ready to drink my tea and watch Family Guy. I have some bits to do before bed, so I will do them, a few commission for Mum's friends, it's a start, which is good.

Should be meeting up with Emily tomorrow, and then I have to buy some paper, there is a shop in Gun Wharf devoted to paper, it's amazing, you fill a box for £5, and if you reuse it, you get a discount, so much easier.

I have designed my business card, if you are part of the Facebook page, you can view a version there, I'm going to print loads this week to give out later. So a busy week really.

Right, I am off for to watch Family Guy.

Good night.

Zooey, the Lovely Zooey

Just for you guys, whilst I work on some stuff.

The Mysteries of Life, and a Night out in Chaos!!

Well, the mystery of life is how bizarre and sporadic it is, one minute all goes to hell, the next you're having the time of your life, it's very very weird.

All this was summed up in one night in Chaos last night. We started out in The Polly, the to The Deco, and then we went to The Duck, and we thought, well, lets carry on and ended up in Chaos, it was great. I danced allot, and danced with a lovely lass, who I had previously smiled at, and then got caught staring at her, so I thought well, whats to loose, go and dance, so I did.

At the end of the night, after hours of dancing with friends, I scrawled my number on a piece of paper form my trusty notebook and gave it to her. Fingers crossed kids!!!

Them Crooked Vultures

Yes, they were amazing, they were awesome, I missed the support which was Troy Van Leeuwen's new band..bugger...Troy's amazing!!

Anyways, it was great, but hey wouldn't come out and see their fans afterwards which was a bit pants, I saw they int eh windows having a port show party, and I got to shout at Troy as he had a cigarette outside, but that was it....in the cold.

Tomorrow I have work in the morning, and afterwards a rest, then I might go out in the evening, don't know yet, could go to Albert Road and watch the pretty women as they pass me by.

I should get down and start doing things, I plan to launch in January....better get a move on!!!!

Tara McPherson

Quick entry

This blog just seems to be all about me cleaning at the moment, so I though I would put up a link to another blog I have started reading.

It's really cool, and always has some awesome pictures, and indie clothing.

Bloodlikemilk

See you all soon.

Just before bedtime

Ideas are spawning, and things being done. About to finish a logo for Manly Panda, it's the Etsy shop for my friend Emily, go check it out!!!

The more expensive ideas are slowly being formed on paper, some of which will be strictly limited as an experiment, then I'll change them a bit and re create them.

As for now, I shall reside to my quarters, I need some sleep.

Good night all.

And so we carry on

Well, I am still beavering away at this cleaning thing, it's taking ages, I keep finding things, it's hard work. But, I will prevail!!!

Anyways, I was lying in bed last night, and I had a few more ideas. I have some to the conclusion, the best ideas come when you can't sleep and when your on the toilet. The difference is, you an lean out of bed and find a notebook to write your ideas down, you can't do that in the toilet, it'll be messy. All I need to do is learn how to sew.

Well, more on that later.

Christmas is on the way and I am not ready for it, really, I have next to no presents, it sucks arse, but I will do something, it'll be cool.

Right, on with the clean.

Over and Out.

I like this song

Products and wishlists

So, I have managed to write down a three stage plan, it needs a little more work, but it will begin to come into play soon.

I am at the moment designing product ot sell, so you'll have to keep watch, it taking a while, but it will work!!!

I am still cleaning up the Library into a proper work space, I also need some extra cash to get some bits for later, but they will have to wait.

If you haven't already, go out and listen to Laura Marling's Alas, I cannot swim. It's very beautiful.

Have fun.

Entry 009008836463884-ahdgd-38465

Well, apart from having several paper cuts on my hands, and fingers, and having a large amount of pain with them, everything goes well.

I have been beavering away with ideas for my Etsy shop, and how to get out of the workplace I currently haunt. So far, nothing has prevailed, so I will have to hunt more.

Been doodling in my sketch book allot, I do intend to scan them into my Flikr and link them to this blog, then all can see what I am up too. But for now you will have to wait.

Well, that's about it for now, I have training tonight, so I will hurt in the morning, got my appointment with the specialist in the morning, so it could be interesting.

Have a good day.

Monday, 23 November 2009

I've changed back to the old school editor for posts as the new one didn't have a spell check, how dumb is that!!!

Anyways, I am about to start my own Etsy to sell some custom stuff, key rings, badges, bag and phone charms and such like, I need some cash, so this sounds like a fun idea, so we'll see if it works.

On the other side of things, I have started a project for myself called "The Little Box of Happiness". It's for someone who I think needs a cheer up.

Well, apart from that, well, what can I say. Not allot really. Everything is a bit strange and I don't really want to talk about it at the moment, but when I do I'll let you know.

Have a good day.

To boldly go.....

Yes, I have just been watching Star Trek on Bluray, a fantastic addition to the Star Trek series, a fantastic hand over and above all, a fucking good film!!

And dispite what people say, the Enterprise looks amazing!!!!!

So, why such a late post I hear you ask, well, here it is.

I am embarking on a little venture known to you all as Etsy. I have been scrawling away in my sketch book with ideas, and have come up with a series of pictures that will become keyrings and mobile phone charms, I also hope to create some one of a kind hand painted t-shirts. You never know where it could lead, but it would be nice to bring in some extra cash.

Well, I will leave you with that.

Good Night, and...Live Long and Prosper.

Tuesday morning, and new news!!!

Yesterday I got my letter from the University, yep, I officially have my MA......I AM NOW A MASTER OF ARTS!!!

Hows that for awesome!!!!!

So, to commerorate this tremendous occassion I got THE MIGHTY BOOSH: FUTURE SAILORS TOUR DVD!!!! Yes, surreal, excitement from the world of Boosh.

I also have a day off, so I ought to be cleaning the Library, try and make it seem more habitable instead of full of paper, art bits and such like. Well, I will be anyway, but in more organised sense.

Well, maybe I will add more later.

Trial, Error and Trauma.

It the worst storm of the year outside, and it's been raging for hours, and it leads me to the past few months interesting affairs.

I've been going up and down like no ones business, and, although I have been doing this for years, it's become more and more evident that I needed to get help again. So, after an episode of witnessing people that didn't actually exist, I did. The first doctor didn't take me seriously and tried palming me off with some bollocks about how we as humans don't truly understand how the human brain works and such like, so I went back and saw my usual doctor, and he was incredibly helpful, so I have a referral to see some specialists, something that really should have happened quite a while ago.

These events led me to think of my singular nature, and what it means to have a relationship whether you are medicated or not. Is it about understanding, is romance the same as it used to be, or has it been dumbed down and homogenised into something altogether something else. Is it about buying flowers, or is it about buying certain flowers. Is it about roses, or knowing that they like Blue Tulips or White roses, or something altogether different?
Surely romance shouldn't be about what everyone else says, but something more individual? The occasional gift should be something special, whether it be a box of chocolates or a pen. Taking notice of your partner should be very important, or is this just rubbish? I've known people that demand certain things from their partners, and this, in my eyes, destroys what a "relationship" is all about, should it be about liking the same TV show? I don't think I will truly understand the modern way, I have too much imagination. Should the element of surprise always exist? In my eyes of course it should!

Well, that's it for now, I will see you all soon.
